2022 Installation and Awards Dinner

The Glendora Chamber of Commerce held its 119th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner at the Glendora Country Club on June 22, 2022. At this year's event, several awards were given to deserving Glendora businesses and chamber members that were voted on by fellow members in the Glendora business community.

The evening began with a State of the Chamber presentation by Joe Cina, President & CEO, describing many of the programs and services the Glendora Chamber offers. During Cina's presentation, he gave a brief history of the Chamber, detailing how it had started in 1903 as the Glendora Board of Trade. Then later was renamed and organized as the Glendora Chamber of Commerce in 1916. Since the beginning, the Glendora Chamber has focused on improving the Glendora business community and services to Glendora residents and visitors. The Chamber's vision statement reads: "The Glendora Chamber strives to be the driving force for the economic vitality and quality of life for the businesses, government, community organizations, schools, and citizens in the greater Glendora community." Cina continued by going over the different events of this past year, such as Flashback Classic Car Show, Cuisines of the Foothills Restaurant Week, Glendora State of the City and Schools presentations, and the many networking opportunities and ribbon cuttings the Chamber was able to host. Cina concludes by going over the successful offering of the COVID-19 Related Small Business Rescue Grant Program. The City of Glendora partnered with the Chamber, which administered and marketed the grant program and successfully helped deliver over $1,800,000 to Glendora businesses.

Marilyn ended her remarks with a quote from the epilogue of Donald Pflueger's book, "Glendora, The Annals of a Southern California Community." It reads, "Glendora's great asset is not its beautiful pepper trees, or citrus groves, or good government. Its greatest asset is not the number of churches, good schools, and social organizations. Glendora's greatest asset is its civic-minded people, those who take an interest in community welfare and actively participate in civic betterment."

The passing of the gavel to the 22/23 Board Chair Ashley Rozatti Government Affairs Director for Athens Services, concluded the evening. Chair Rozatti thanked Chair Sparks for all she had done this past year and looks forward to leading the Chamber this coming year.
